Uganda TTT 2016 Program

FRIDAY, MAY 13th 2016

Departure to Uganda; once we land in Entebbe the hotel will be minutes away, on the mighty Lake Victoria!

SATURDAY, MAY 14th 2016 TORO KINGDOM

Departure from Entebbe through the green district of Kabarole, all the way to the hilly area of colonial Fort Portal; one beautiful little town in western Uganda. Dinner and overnight in Fort Portal.

SUNDAY, MAY 15th 2016 CHIMP TRACKING AT KIBALE FOREST

Early wake up and transfer to the luscious Kibale forest, where we’ll meet with the rangers and adventure in the deep forest tracking of Chimpanzees; this involves trekking and sometimes even running; you might also meet many other primates along the way. Lunch at the camp and afternoon departure towards the Queen Elizabeth National Park.
As soon as we enter the park we should start seeing elephants, hippos, bucks and maybe even lions.
Dinner and overnight at a local lodge.

MONDAY, MAY 16th 2016 QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

UGANDA TTT STAGE 1
8 km around the tracks in the park; this first stage is really depending on the animals and will be done with the help of local staff and rangers form the lodge and camp; the stage can be interrupted at any time and once the elephants are far enough you start running again; this is the excitement!
Relax on the Kazinga Channel while going on a cruise between lake George and Lake Edward, spotting the fantastic wildlife along the way. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

TUESDAY, MAY 17th 2016 TOWARDS BWINDI, THE IMPENETRABLE FOREST

Morning departure towards the mountainous region called Bwindi, with it’s impenetrable forest; along the way we crosse the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth Park; the only place in Africa where lions climb up the trees.
In the afternoon you’ll challenge yourself during UGANDA TTT STAGE 2 along a dirt track of the impenetrable forest; the altitude will make the 10km very tough, plus you have ascents and descents, some of them very steep.
The stage will end by a lodge where we will have dinner and spend the night.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 18th 2016 GORILLA TRACKING

this is the day everybody looks so much forward: after meeting the rangers and a detailed briefing you’ll be transferred in groups of eight people to the different Gorilla Families for your adventure to start. It can take from several mites to several hours, but once you meet this amazing primers (only 720 left in the world) you will forget the difficulties to get there.
This experience is unique, and it will definitely be the highlight of your african trip.

THURSDAY, MAY 19th LAKE BUNYONI

After breakfast we will leave towards Lake Bunyoni, one of the most idyllic places of Africa; imagine tall mountains around a lake with many islands, green colors and small villages with amazing views over the Virunga Volcanoes.
UGANDA TTT STAGE 3: you will be running approx 12 km at 2250 mt, this will include trail and single track, with some very steep ascents from the lake! Amazing!

FRIDAY, MAY 20th 2016 LAKE MBURO

after breakfast we start our long journey north; we will leave the main road in order to explore Lake Mburo national Park, the smallest in Uganda, with some very unique wildlife including Zebras. Possibility for safari.
Dinner and overnight.

SATURDAY, MAY 21th 2016 THE ROAD TO ENTEBBE

Departure from Lake Mburo still on Safari mode; then after a few hours we’ll be crossing the Equator and stop for pictures.
At arrival in Entebbe we will visit the enchanting botanical garden where you can see some of the most beautiful trees in the world and also stretch your legs with a run by the lake. Farewell dinner and overnight.

SUNDAY, MAY 22th 2016 GOODBYE AFRICA

Time to fly home!

As you can see the program is full and various; it will be a long journey full of surprises, and in-between Safari and trail running you will get immersed in this fantastic african spirit.
